Pierre is an experienced biotech entrepreneur and former investment banker with extensive multidisciplinary experience spanning the entire product lifecycle of highly innovative life sciences technologies. His expertise encompasses roles as a founder, inventor, operator, and advisor, building and guiding innovations from concept through development to market maturity, securing equity and debt financing, and contributing to successful exits.
He pioneered a novel approach to "spinning out" a business from university research, assembling a team of talented scientists to advance his vision of applying new biological insights to significantly improve patient outcomes. While conducting postgraduate research in biophysics, nanoelectronics, and extracellular vesicles (EVs) at the Cavendish Laboratory, part of the Department of Physics at the University of Cambridge, he founded Mursla Bio to retain the generated intellectual property (IP). He is the author and inventor of several publications and patents in the fields of nanoelectronics and EV characterisation. During this time, Pierre received numerous awards, including innovation accolades and recognition as a "German-French Young Leader" under the patronage of President Macron.
Before this, Pierre gained a decade of experience in healthcare investment banking at J.P. Morgan, where he was involved in closing over 20 deals totaling $70 billion. This includes several M&A divestments such as Siemens Healthcare assets, M&A buy-side transactions such as Sanofi / BMP Sunstone and Zentiva / Eczacıbaşı, equity and debt acquisition financing transactions such as Roche / Genentech and Danone / WhiteWave and IPOs, including Maisons du Monde. In addition to deal-making, Pierre was entrusted with managing over 40 analysts and associates across the EMEA region, serving as a resource manager and leadership figure. He further distinguished himself by becoming the first J.P. Morgan representative sent to Japan to support global M&A initiatives in the region. His contributions earned him recognition by eFinancialCareers as one of the most impressive Vice Presidents in investment banking.
He earned a Master in Management from the leading European business institution HEC Paris (Grande École). Previously, he completed a classe préparatoire programme specializing in mathematics at Saint-Jean de Douai, which is equivalent to the undergraduate level.
